Free Comic Book Days: Bookmark Contest, Events

Save the date: Free Comic Book Days at the library is coming May 9th through the May 14th, 2022. We're having a contest to kick things off, finalists will have their bookmarks printed and made available during our event in May. Enter the contest: Pick up forms at your local library branch or Download and print the template. Forma En Español Haz Clic Aqui Follow directions below.Design your bookmark, fill out the entry formSubmit original filled out form and art to local branch or go to our online submission form and upload your artwork. Follow these steps: A. Create a design based on one of two themes: 1. Original Library Superhero design or2. Book or Movie Fandom Art B. Choose a medium: Use whatever art tools and mediums you prefer (such as colored pencils, paint, crayons, mixed media, computer etc.) to create your art. C. What is you your age category? This contest is open to current Contra Costa County residents - Grades 1st through 12th (see age categories below) and runs from February 21st through March 31st. 1) Ages 6 to 9 (grades 1st - 4th) 2) Ages 10 to 13 (grades 5th - 8th) 3) Ages 14 to 17 (grades 9th - 12th) Submission Rules & Guidelines: After you complete your bookmark please scan or take a photo, read through the contest rules below and submit your original work in person to your local branch or upload it: ccclib.org/bookmark-contest-submission-form1. You or parent/guardian are a Contra Costa County Library patron 2. Use the template provided, stay within the printable area. Be aware that some parts of your image close to the edge may be cut off during printing.3. No more than two entries per person.4. Entries will be judged for creativity, originality, neatness and printability.5. Entries accepted Monday February 21st through Thursday March 31st, 2022.6. Chosen designs will have bookmark designs printed, any additional prize(s) to be determined,7. Finalists will be notified on or about Monday, May 2nd, 20228. Do not include any writing, text, trademarks, or copyrighted marks in your artwork.9. If your submission is chosen your parent/guardian will need to fill out a "Release/Waiver for use of Image, Likeness, or Original Work" (Form 3.06)
